Plasma vs LCD. Looking to buy a new TV? Confused by technical jargon?

High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI)

High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) is a method of connecting your television to another device such as a DVD player, a PC, a set top box or games console.

HDMI is now becoming the standard replacement to anologue connection methods such as SCART, RF and VGA. It is also replacing the digital DVI standard which has been around several years.

As the number of devices that support HDMI increases it's important to look for this when purchasing a new TV, if future-proofing is an important consideration.

Not all new televisions support this method of connection.

HDMI is also supports DRM technologies which are used to protect copyrighted material.
